Kapuso Sparkle artist and former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate Shuvee Etrata has spoken up following the viral video of her interaction with Kapamilya star Donny Pangilinan.

The video, which circulated widely online, showed Shuvee’s visibly excited reaction upon seeing Donny at an event—drawing mixed reactions from fans, particularly supporters of Donny and Belle Mariano’s tandem.
In an interview with showbiz insider Ogie Diaz on the March 29 episode of ‘Showbiz Updates’, Shuvee clarified that the encounter came as a surprise.
“No’ng naimbita po kami ni Tito Bernard sa birthday niya, hindi ko po alam na nando’n siya [si Donny]. Kaya gano’n na lang po ‘yong reaksiyon ko,” she said.
She also admitted that she only learned about the viral clip from Donny himself.
“Actually, hindi ko napanood ‘yong video. Ang nagsabi sa akin, si Donny. ‘Viral na naman tayo.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ha? Anong nangyari? May kasalanan na naman ba akong ginawa?’ ‘Pag viral, naaaning ako,” she added.
Despite the backlash, Shuvee did not deny her admiration for the actor, saying she has long been a fan—even during her stay inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.
She also expressed concern over possible criticism from DonBelle fans, jokingly remarking, “Baka patayin na talaga ako ng DonBelle fans… I’m also a DonBelle. So huwag n’yo po sana akong i-crucify. Crush lang po talaga.”
Meanwhile, Pangilinan had earlier addressed the issue through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), calling for an end to online hate and comparisons among fans.
“I don’t usually speak up, but I think it’s about time we stop spreading hate and constantly comparing people. There are far more important things happening in our country,” he said.
He also defended both Shuvee and Belle Mariano, urging netizens to refrain from dragging others into the issue.
“As for Belle, please keep her out of your narratives. She is beautiful, talented, and most importantly, has a great heart. Nothing you say or do will change that,” Pangilinan added.
The actor further explained that the meeting happened during what he initially thought would be a private gathering.
“I told Shuvee the videos were going around out of shock, as I went to dinner at first thinking it was just going to be intimate and private. People forget we are all friends in this industry. Why do we keep pitting people against each other?” he said.
