Sofia Trazona publicly criticized her stepfather, Alvin Aragon, following his controversial social media post targeting a “King of Talk,” which netizens believe refers to veteran host Boy Abunda.

Aragon drew backlash after sharing a cryptic Facebook post addressed to a certain “Maam Annette,” widely speculated to be GMA Network executive Annette Gozon-Valdes. In his message, he suggested that the “King of Talk” should be removed from television, accusing the program of using its platform to influence Filipino parents into accepting children who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Stop propagating sin of homosexuality because it is against the Lord Jesus,” Aragon wrote, expressing his religious stance on the issue.
The remarks came shortly after Aragon and Izzy appeared on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, where discussions touched on his earlier statements about homosexuality, parenting, and his wife’s absence from reunion concerts of the SexBomb Girls.
During the same program, Abunda addressed Aragon’s views, saying that while he respects religious beliefs, imposing them on others—particularly on how parents should treat their children—is problematic.
He emphasized that many parents choose to support their children with love and dignity, adding that judgment toward families with LGBTQIA+ members can be hurtful.
In response, Sofia took to Facebook on March 24 to question her stepfather’s actions, pointing out what she described as hypocrisy.
“You weren’t supposed to be on that show. The irony is sumampa ka sa show knowing na Tito Boy is part of the community because you’ll benefit from it, pero nung other guests shared their piece, ayaw mo na sa show?” she wrote.
She also urged Aragon to focus on more pressing national concerns.
“Also wala na bang ibang issue? Why not try speaking for the oil price hike or hindi pagpasok ng mga government officials,” she added.
As of writing, Boy Abunda has yet to issue a statement regarding Aragon’s remarks, while discussions surrounding the issue continue to gain traction online.
