Actresses Cristine Reyes and Isabelle Daza opened up about their past on-set conflict while filming the ABS-CBN drama series ‘Tubig at Langis’, revealing that tensions between them once escalated into a real-life altercation.

The two revisited the issue during their guest appearance on ‘The Sexytime Podcast’, hosted by Ava Daza, where they candidly discussed how their professional disagreements turned personal during the show’s production.
Cristine admitted that the tension built up over time, eventually spilling into one of their confrontation scenes.
“Parang feeling ko that time hindi pa ako ready mag-work pero I can’t say no,” she said. “Hindi lang to nangyari sa isang araw ng taping ah, 18 months ‘to. Bwisit na bwisit na talaga ako.”
She recalled how emotions got the better of her during a beach scene.
“Nagkaroon ako ng chance sa beach, sorry talaga, Belle. Hindi niya siguro in-expect na talagang tototohanin ko.”
“Hahablutin ko ‘yung buhok niya pababa… Ten years akong nagma-martial arts. Talagang slam sa baba. ‘Tapos, sinipa niya ako, gumanti siya sa ‘kin.”
Cristine also shared that differences in personality contributed to the tension.
“Ako, galing sa simpleng buhay… kapag darating ako sa set, I have to greet everybody,” she said.
“Si Isabelle, iba siya sa akin eh, sosyal… nag-e-expect ako na magiging friendly siya pero meron siyang dating na… hindi man lang nag-hi.”
For her part, Isabelle explained that she was unaware of how her actions were perceived.
“I wasn’t aware of that… Hindi ako sanay to come on the set and greet everyone, I don’t know why,” she said, noting that her assistant would usually guide her on who to approach.
Isabelle admitted she was caught off guard when the scripted fight became physical.
“Kinuha niya ‘yung buhok ko and then, she dragged me. Sobrang lakas niya. I didn’t want to break character,” she recalled.
“It was more like, I knew she wasn’t going to be close to me… I just really wanted to focus on doing well on my part.”
Despite the intensity, both acknowledged that the scene was effective and only required one take.
Cristine later revealed that personal issues at the time also affected her behavior.
“That time… nagpo-post ako na parang happy family, pero ‘yung totoo, hindi siya talaga umuuwi sa bahay,” she shared.
“Pumupunta siya sa mga casino… Nilabas ko talaga sa kanya (Belle), sorry.”
Isabelle responded with understanding: “You were going through something personally.”
The two actresses confirmed that they have since reconciled and are now on good terms.
“We really reconciled years later,” Isabelle said, recalling how Cristine later apologized.
“You sent me flowers when I gave birth, I was so touched.”
Looking back, both agreed that while the experience was difficult, it ultimately contributed to the impact of the series.
