Angel Galang has issued a public apology following backlash over remarks allegedly criticizing fellow drag artist Marina Summers and her hosting at the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night.

The controversy stemmed from now-deleted social media posts and Instagram Notes where Galang made comments perceived as insulting toward Marina’s hosting style. Among the posts were “Binagot mo ang #MUPH. Totoong buhay lang” and a separate remark that read, “Chaka host MUPH.”
The statements quickly drew criticism from netizens, drag fans, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
In a Facebook post, Galang admitted fault and took responsibility for her actions.
“Unang una sa lahat sorry mga alaga, award sena!! HARD loka!! Pero sorry I’m really really sorry hard especially to my sister, Marina. Na over express ako at I know na MALI TALAGA AKO. I want to take accountability and responsibility dito mga nak,” she wrote.
She also thanked those who called her out, acknowledging the importance of accountability.
“Thank you talaga sa mga taong nag call out sakin para maging better person… Again, masaya ako para sa lahat ng achievements ng mga sisters ko TOTOONG BUHAY LANG!!”
Galang emphasized that there was no ill intent behind her comments and reiterated her support for fellow drag artists.
Her brother, Maxie Andreison, also addressed the issue, saying he reprimanded her and does not tolerate such behavior, stressing accountability within the community.
Despite the apology, the controversy has had immediate repercussions. The “Doll Dominasian Australia Tour,” which was set to feature M1ss Jade So, Popstar Bench, and Galang, has been canceled.
Organizers from Invasian Productions announced that they are working to reschedule separate shows for M1ss Jade So and Popstar Bench with a refreshed lineup, reportedly without Galang.
Galang rose to prominence as a finalist on ‘Drag Race Philippines Season 3’, while Marina Summers gained international recognition following her standout performances on the global stage of the franchise.

As of writing, discussions around accountability and professionalism within the drag community continue, with fans closely watching how the situation develops.
