As pickleball continues to grow in popularity across the Philippines, players are always on the lookout for new places to play.
Most courts are found inside gyms and commercial spaces, but Highland Bali Villas Resort & Spa in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija is offering something different.

The resort recently unveiled The Prime, a new open-air sports hub that combines the excitement of pickleball with stunning views of Pantabangan’s mountains and valleys.
Officially launched through a soft opening on May 29, The Prime gives players the opportunity to enjoy one of the country’s fastest-growing sports in a setting far removed from the usual indoor courts. Surrounded by fresh air and scenic landscapes, the facility offers a refreshing alternative for both seasoned players and beginners.
More than just a pickleball court, The Prime was designed as a multi-purpose sports venue. The space can also be converted for badminton, volleyball, and basketball, making it an ideal recreational hub for guests and visitors. A mini bar beside the court allows players to grab refreshments and unwind between games.

The launch event gathered around 50 guests, including actress-comedian Herlene Budol and her partner Kevin Dasom, as well as content creator Ayah Flores Li. Herlene and Kevin came dressed for the occasion in full pickleball gear and even joined some of the guests on the court. While their visit was brief, the pair appeared to enjoy the experience as they rallied with players and took in the lively atmosphere.
According to Highland Bali owner Cleofe “Tita Geng” Libunao Rodriguez, The Prime was created to embrace the growing pickleball movement while providing an inclusive space for players of all ages and skill levels.
Accessibility is also part of the facility’s appeal. Annual membership is priced at ₱1,750, allowing members to enjoy discounted open-play rates of ₱200. Non-members can play for ₱300, while resort guests receive a special rate of ₱250. The courts are open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
With plans to host more pickleball events in the future, including community tournaments and celebrity matches, Highland Bali is positioning The Prime as more than just a sports facility. It is shaping up to be a destination where recreation, wellness, and nature come together.

For travelers looking for a unique getaway or pickleball enthusiasts wanting to trade concrete walls for mountain views, The Prime offers a compelling reason to visit Pantabangan and experience a different side of the sport. (with reports from Elle Grengia)
