Actresses Jenn Rosa and Lea Bernabe are set to showcase new sides of themselves in the upcoming VMX original film ‘Helena,’ premiering on July 3.

For Rosa, the project marks a major milestone in her career as it serves as her first movie appearance following a nine-month break from the VMX scene. More significantly, she revealed that the film features her boldest performance to date.
Speaking during the film’s media conference held at Viva Café, Rosa explained that she accepted the role because she was drawn to the story and the complexity of her character.
In ‘Helena,’ she portrays a healer living in a remote community who treats both women and men. As part of the character’s spiritual journey, Helena undergoes rituals of self-punishment whenever she believes she has committed a wrongdoing.

Beyond the film’s daring scenes, Rosa emphasized that she also invested heavily in her dramatic performance.
“I’m proud not only of the bold scenes but also of the acting work I was able to give in this film,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Lea Bernabe revealed that ‘Helena’also marks a turning point in her career.
Known for previously setting personal boundaries when it came to intimate scenes, Bernabe admitted during the same press conference that she decided to take on a more daring role for the project.

The actress said her decision stemmed from her admiration for the film’s story and her desire to explore more challenging performances as an actress.
Bernabe also expressed confidence in her work in the film, saying she is particularly proud of her acting and feels ready to take on more demanding roles moving forward.
“Gagawin ko na ang lahat. Kaya ko na ang mas mapangahas na mga eksena,” she said.
Aside from discussing the movie, Bernabe also addressed speculation about her personal life, denying rumors that she has a wealthy boyfriend funding her frequent travels abroad.
According to the actress, her trips are self-funded through years of hard work in the industry and are often spent with friends.
Directed by Omar Deroca, ‘Helena’ also stars Van Allen Ong, Aya Fortes, and other VMX talents. The psychological erotic drama is expected to be one of the platform’s most talked-about releases when it begins streaming on July 3.
