During our four-day stay, one thing became clear: Plantation Bay isn’t simply a beachfront resort. Together with the members of RAWRTrip, we experienced firsthand what makes Plantation Bay one of Cebu’s most iconic resorts.
First Impressions. For many first-time visitors, the scale of Plantation Bay is the first thing that leaves a lasting impression.
Upon arrival, the sprawling property immediately captures your attention. Vast saltwater lagoons stretch across the resort, connected by wooden bridges and pathways that make the property feel more like a tropical village than a conventional hotel.
“Immersive,” was how Aldrine described the experience. “Pagpasok mo, parang hindi ka na nasa Pilipinas. It’s a world of its own.”

The spa became one of her favorite places throughout the trip, describing it as a highlight of her stay.

During our visit, we tried several of the resort’s recreational offerings, including jet skiing, Wheebo rides, archery, wall climbing, and the indoor firing range.
Among the activities, the firing range emerged as one of the group’s favorites.
For Lau, it was her first time holding and firing a gun.
“The firing range gave me an adrenaline rush. It was a mix of nerves and excitement since it was my first time.”
Cassiopeia also ranked the firing range among her favorite experiences, alongside the Wheebo, a unique floating watercraft that allows guests to navigate the lagoons at their own pace.
“Sarap ikutin ng pool gamit yung Wheebo while controlling it by yourself,” she shared.
The jet ski experience also delivered plenty of memorable moments, becoming one of the most talked-about activities among the group.
While Plantation Bay offers numerous activities, its lagoons remain the heart of the resort.
The property’s extensive network of saltwater lagoons creates an environment unlike most resorts in the Philippines.
Guests can swim, kayak, paddle, or simply enjoy the view from their rooms and bridges overlooking the water.
For Aldrine, one of the most recommended experiences is surprisingly simple.
“Morning swim sa saltwater lagoon bago uminit. The water is so still, perfect for reflection and photos.”
At sunrise, the lagoons transform into a mirror-like landscape, making them ideal for both quiet moments and photography.
As content creators, we couldn’t help but notice how photogenic every corner of Plantation Bay is.
The resort offers countless backdrops, from picturesque wooden bridges and tropical archways to sandy lagoon islands and beachfront views.
Among the most camera-friendly locations mentioned by the team were the wooden bridges crossing the lagoons, the archways near the reception area, the beachfront, the alfresco dining area of Fiji Restaurant, and the charming hammock and garden spaces scattered around the property.
One of Cassiopeia’s favorite moments involved waking up early to watch the sunrise by the sea.
“Sobrang ganda panoorin.”
The expansive property allows creators to produce diverse content without ever leaving the resort grounds.
Whether it’s room tours, food features, lifestyle content, or activity-focused videos, Plantation Bay provides endless opportunities for storytelling.

Among the group’s favorites was Fiji Restaurant, which earned repeated recommendations.
Cassiopeia particularly enjoyed the restaurant’s ramen and alfresco setting, while other standout dishes included Korean bulgogi, chicken sinigang, and the resort’s ice cream selections.
Kilimanjaro Kafē also received praise, especially for its breakfast buffet.
“So many choices to try—definitely the perfect way to fuel your day,” Lau shared.
Meanwhile, Aldrine continues to talk about what Plantation Bay proudly calls its World’s Best Kare-Kare.
“Talagang hinahanap-hanap ko until now.”
Rooms. The accommodations complement the resort’s overall experience perfectly.
Guests described the rooms as spacious, clean, and comfortable, with classic interiors that prioritize comfort over trendy minimalism.
For Aldrine, the rooms offered a cozy old-world charm that matched the property’s overall aesthetic.
Cassiopeia highlighted the spacious layout, comfortable beds, beautiful views, and luxurious bathroom facilities.
Several rooms also feature direct lagoon access, allowing guests to step outside and immediately immerse themselves in the resort’s signature environment.
While luxury amenities and beautiful scenery are important, it’s often the unexpected moments that become the most memorable.
For our group, those moments ranged from late-night walks by the beach and discovering unusual sea creatures to laughter-filled activity sessions and countless behind-the-scenes bloopers while filming content.
Whether it was accidentally leaving a keycard inside a room, racing around the lagoons on a Wheebo, screaming during jet ski rides, or sharing laughs while creating videos, these small experiences became just as memorable as the resort itself.
Why Plantation Bay Remains a Cebu Favorite. After four days at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, one thing became apparent: the resort succeeds because it offers balance.
It can be relaxing without being boring.
