Despite heavy rains, members of the media and advertisers gathered at the TV5 Reliance Center on August 6 for the Tara Kapatid 2026 Midyear Media and Trade Celebration, where the Kapatid Network unveiled its biggest programming slate for the second half of the year.
While a few expected celebrities were unable to attend, TV5 showcased an expanded lineup of entertainment, news, public service, and music programs, reinforcing its commitment to delivering more diverse content across television and digital platforms.
The network’s programming push builds on the strong performance of its current titles, particularly ‘A Secret in Prague’ and ‘My Bespren Emman’, both of which continue to earn positive reviews and grow their audiences through TV5 and ABS-CBN’s multiplatform reach.
Top-billed by Andrea Brillantes and Enrique Gil, ‘A Secret in Prague’ continues to captivate viewers with its blend of action, romance, and drama. The series follows Chiara, a determined young woman whose search for answers leads her to uncover the biggest secret of her life.
Meanwhile, Shaina Magdayao and JM de Guzman continue to inspire audiences in ‘My Bespren Emman’, which has built a loyal following through its heartfelt story of friendship, family, resilience, and second chances.
TV5 also announced the continued expansion of Korina Sanchez-Roxas’ presence on the network. Following the success of ‘Face to Face with Ate Koring’, her award-winning magazine program ‘Rated Korina’ will also begin airing on TV5, strengthening the network’s public service and lifestyle programming.
Joining the network’s growing entertainment lineup are primetime dramas ‘Sigabo’ and ‘Someone Someday’, along with hit game shows ‘Everybody Sing’ and ‘Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal’, all of which continue to enjoy strong audience reception.
TV5 President and CEO Guido R. Zaballero said the network remains committed to reaching audiences wherever they choose to consume content.
“Across television, digital, or wherever audiences choose to watch, we’re committed to telling stories that inspire, entertain, inform, and connect. Our mission remains the same: to bring great Filipino stories to more Filipinos,” Zaballero said.
“As we build on the momentum of the first half of the year, we are strengthening our programming, expanding our digital presence, and creating more opportunities for Filipino stories and talents to reach wider audiences,” he added.
Among the biggest announcements was ‘Mommy Guard’, marking the long-awaited television reunion of beloved 1990s love team Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal.
The morning series promises a mix of romance, comedy, family moments, and relatable stories about modern Filipino life. Joining the lead stars are Cedrick Juan, Pearl Gonzales, Nathalie Apollo, Amo Wilding, Celyn David, Patrick Ballesteros, and Roxanne Guinoo.
News5 also strengthens its morning news block with the launch of ‘Frontline sa Umaga’ beginning August 10.
The program brings together veteran journalists Ed Lingao, Angela Lagunzad-Castro, Maoui David, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Alvin Pura, and Dr. Richard Gadiaza, delivering the day’s top headlines, public service information, health updates, and practical advice for Filipino viewers.
TV5 likewise introduced ‘Star Worx: True to Life’, a new platform dedicated to discovering and developing emerging Filipino talents for television, digital media, live events, and branded content.
Meanwhile, the network’s music and variety program ‘Vibe Plus’ is set for a refreshed chapter as it celebrates its anniversary, continuing its support for Original Filipino Music through live performances, artist collaborations, and digital content.
With the addition of ‘Mommy Guard’, ‘Frontline sa Umaga’, ‘Star Worx: True to Life’, ‘Vibe Plus’, and ‘Rated Korina’, alongside the continued success of its current programs, TV5 is expanding its content ecosystem across entertainment, news, music, public service, and talent development.
