  • iflix Philippines once again proved that they want to upgrade local entertainment through their application.
  • “Hoy Bibig Mo” will be iflix’s first-ever original comedy series to feature the country’s best stand-up laugh representatives.

Filipinos are known best for their sense of humor. There would always be one or two in every group who’s a clown that makes no moment idle. One of this generation’s most talked-about streaming applications in Asia, iFlix, wants to showcase the talents of many local stand-up comedians by featuring them on an original online show.

“Hoy Bibig Mo” will officially be available for watching starting December 1. The entertainment service company was thrilled to announce last November 22 at the press launch of the upcoming program that they would be dropping all eight episodes in one run!

The show’s flow solely relies on only the sharpest, most audacious comedians to take on the stage their hilarious, biting and quirky humor. The jokes are bold, near-the-knuckle and sometimes, downright rude. The bottom line is – if it’s funny, it’s in.

“Following the success of Oi! Jaga Mulut in Malaysia, we’re excited to bring the same boundary-pushing, hilarious stand-up comedy concept to the Philippines and to establish iflix as the destination for the region’s most talented funnymen and women. Delivering hyperlocal, high-impact content is at the crux of our original programming strategy, and we’re committed to raising the bar for the enjoyment of all iflix subscribers,” said iflix Global Director of Original Programming, Mark Francis.

“No-filter” hits

Since the comedians are mostly savage, expect nights where you get to laugh even about the sad realities of life. Especially here in the Philippines, where most stuff happens like a joke.

Featuring today’s most popular stand-up comedians GB Labrador, James Caraan, Ramon Bautista, Jethro Trogo, Jeps Gallon, Alex Calleja, Ryan Rems, Micah Andres,  Rex Millora, Ramon Cabochan, and more, you won’t ever gonna put your phone or tablets down once it premieres.

During the press launch last Wednesday at Yes Please in Taguig, the mentioned comedians gave the audience a sample of their entertaining skills. True enough, they dominated the stage.
