Catriona Gray still looks up to Mariel de Leon even after scripted issue

A few hours before Binibining Pilipinas 2018 Grand Coronation in March 18, Sunday, Binibining 20 and now-Miss Universe Philippines Catriona Gray posted a photo on Facebook with Miss International – Philippines 2017 Mariel de Leon.

Mariel went under controversy after advising Catriona that sometimes her way of talking sounds scripted. Although Catriona took it well, her fans didn’t.

On a Facebook post, Catriona reveals that she still look up to Mariel. She also encouraged people to stop the hate.

When the controversy started, many pageant fans threatened to ‘boo’ Mariel while she does her final walk. After a while, she also deactivated her Twitter account.

Mariel though, remains one of the most influential on social media, especially Twitter, as she speaks vocally about her insights on different matters and social issues.
