In an interview with PUSH.com, Angelu de Leon revealed the reasons why she admired Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. She used to be in a love team with Bobby Andrews in the 90’s. Their love team also led to many movies and endorsements.
In the said interview, Angelu expressed her gratitude for not growing up around social media.
“I’m very grateful. We love our fans but we’re very grateful we didn’t grow up in a world where you’re just a text away. You’re just a caption away, you’re just a reply away, you’re just a comment away. Because at the end of the day, it’s a difficult time”
Angelu admired the real-life couple Kathryn and Daniel. She also condemned bashers online that hides under a different name and picture.
“I sometimes feel sad for yung mga sina Kathniel. When I read comments kasi sometimes parang tagos sa buto yung mga bashing. Minsan iniisip ko how can people be so rude because they can hide a different name and a different profile picture? How can someone like that be so angry sometimes?”
Angelu expressed her admiration for young artists who knew how to handle their bashers.
“I admire the artist who doesn’t make patol kasi at the end of the day it’s really not your problem, it’s their problem. Sabi nga sa bible, ‘Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.’ So it shows so much of who you are the way you comment on social media.”
Angelu also pointed out that people should have control over what they say or comment on social media posts.
“Alam naman natin, lahat naman tayo pakialamera eh. Alam mo yun? One way or another lahat tayo pakialamera, lahat tayo may masasabi but having that control not to say what you think or whatever you thought of, parang yun yung importanteng magkaroon yung mga tao ngayon.”
Angelu, then, continued that people can’t really please everybody and that sometimes social media can become bothersome.
“Pero at the end of the day, alam naman namin na you can’t please everybody so kumbaga patapangan din minsan ng sikmura. Kaya minsan kahit na gusto mong i-enjoy ang social media, sometimes it really gets bothering and why would you want to put those things in your head pa?”
