Andrea Torres portrays the Norse goddess Sif in Victor Magtanggol. She is being teased that her character’s name sounds like the name of Kapuso comedian Sef Cadayona. Andrea and Sef were once rumored to be an item.
Romantic past with Sef?
Andrea explained that she couldn’t change her character’s name as it is written that way in Norse mythology.
“Natawa lang din ako, kasi nga inaasar ako ng mga tao. Pero iyon talaga kasi siya, pag tiningnan mo sa internet, Sif talaga ang pangalan niya. Hindi naman puwedeng baguhin. Bawal baguhin ang Norse mythology. Pero okay lang.”
Laughing goddess
One thing that excites Andrea these days is the pilot of Victor Magtanggol where she played in some scenes she couldn’t help but laugh at.
“Kasi marami akong nakunan na eksena na natatawa ako, yung naaaliw ako. Kumbaga may mga ginawa kaming eksena na parang hindi masyadong serious, yung medyo may mga comedy parts.”
Victor Magtanggol marks Andrea’s first time to play a goddess in a fantaserye. As the goddess Sif, she will undergo several metamorphoses. The Kapuso star pointed that in her previous fantasy-themed show Ang Lihim Ni Annasandra, she wasn’t required to transform many times over.
“Tsaka first time ko yung fantaserye na talagang may wig, may costume. Kasi yung Annasandra parang minsan lang ako nagta-transform.”
If she were to turn into a real goddess, Andrea would want to have the power to become invisible.
“Gusto ko ano, parang ang sarap, parang ang interesting kapag puwede kang maging invisible.”
Andrea and Alden
Andrea cautioned that she does not play Alden Richards’ love interest in the soon-to-air series. She is just thankful for another opportunity that the network handed to her.
“Actually hindi ko siya tiningnan that way. Mas tiningnan ko na natuwa ako na kinonsider nila ako to be part of it. Kasi alam ko naman na malaking soap siya for Alden. Mas doon ako na, ‘Ay, nakakatuwa naman na naisip nila akong isama!’”
Aware of how possessive some AlDub fans are, Andrea already anticipates that bashers would throw catty remarks at her. She, however, doesn’t see herself being romantically linked with Alden. This is even when she describes the titular hero in Victor Magtanggol as kind and humble.
“Mabait talaga siya! Nakakabilib yung pagka-humble niya. Kasi ngayon ko lang siya nakasama after ng lahat ng success na nakamit niya, nakakatuwa lang na walang nagbago sa kanya.”
