Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina rejected Viva Films‘ offer. She admitted this in a live video message during the victory party for the movie The Hows of Us.
Direk Cathy remains grateful.
The director expressed her gratitude towards the network, its film outfit and executives such as Olivia Lamasan and Carlo Katigbak. In the said message, Direk Cathy revealed that Viva Films Supervising Producer June Rufino called her.
“I am very thankful to God, to everyone who watched and everyone who supported me. I know ABS-CBN and Star Cinema are always behind me. In fact, alam n’yo ba, Inang, Sir Carlo, I got a call from Ms. June Rufino. Ino-offeran ako. Pagkatapos daw ng kontrata ko, sa kanila na ako.”
Direk Cathy had no second thoughts.
She immediately declined the offer.
“Naku hindi po kasi mapapagalitan ako. Sabi, ‘sayang ang ganda ng offer ko sa ‘yo.’ Sabi ko, ‘hindi po, mag-aalaga po ako ng mga anak ko’.”
Direk Cathy stays loyal.
Taking care of her children remains the reason behind her indefinite vacation.
“I love you so much, I love the company and promise po I will not do a project outside ABS-CBN and outside Star Cinema. My heart belongs to you.”
