Hotties Alert: A list of the official Mr. World PH 2018 candidates

  • Sixteen candidates of Mr. World Philippines 2018 pageant were introduced.
  • Mr. World is a two to three-week competition designed to test the candidates in a variety of ways through a series of challenge events, interviews and a final stage show.
  • The Mr. World competition is set to happen in the Philippines on January 2019 at Resorts World Manila.

The “search for the world’s most desirable man” is on. But here’s a catch: the Mr. World pageant, which is held every two years, will be held in the Philippines for the very first time on January 27, 2019 at Resorts World Manila. With this, Mr. World Philippines 2018 is kicking off as well, with the Filipino candidates finally announced, all brimming with determination to make the motherland even prouder – and of course, to add up to the numerous major pageant wins last year.

“This is the right time to harness the collective strength of a united brotherhood of men; a time to take pride in our cultural diversity; to build bridges of cooperation and mutual understanding regardless of race, creed or political persuasion,” said Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria, as he welcomes the challenge of staging the pageant in Manila.

Since its beginning in 1996, the biyearly pageant has been held mostly in Europe, and only twice in Asia (China, 2007 and Korea, 2010). Indeed, the Philippines’ hosting for next year only proves that in recent years, our country has become home not only for world-class beauties, but for lovely gentlemen as well, despite the PH merely joining thrice in the said men’s pageant. Of course, we remember the names (not to mention, the handsome faces) of Mr. World 2013 2nd placer Andrew Wolff, John Spainhour (2014 ), and Sam Ajdani (2016).

For this year, the pageant will test the candidates in a variety of ways through a series of challenge events, interviews and a final stage show. These include segments like Multi-Media Award, Fashion and Style, Sports Challenge & the Talent Competition, and the ‘Extreme Challenge,’ with each one having a winner. Interestingly, it is based on collective points, which will generally assess the effort put in by each contestant – especially to the team challenges, with the contestants split into four teams throughout the event. This mechanics will then determine who will take his place in the Final Top Ten of the competition.

The preliminary screening held last August 14 at House Manila featured a few names (16 names) – to be joined by more aspirants from the provinces and a few others selected through a special process to complete the list. These include:

  1. Karl Louie Aragon
  2. Denver Hernandez
  3. Mark Jero Bagaporo
  4. Robin Hanrath
  5. Mark Comiso
  6. Joy Jerome Evangelista
  7. Abdulahh Sharif Cheng
  8. Marco Poli
  9. Ameen Sardouk
  10. Ricardo de Jesus
  11. Wilfred Placencia
  12. Joshua Banatin
  13. Miguel de Castro
  14. JB Saliba
  15. Reymart Regis
  16. Emirdon Abbo
