Karen Davila finds out what it takes to build a successful business in a foreign country

Broadcast journalist Karen Davila finds out what it takes to build a successful business in a foreign country by featuring entrepreneurs who made a name for themselves in Dubai this Wednesday (April 30) in “My Puhunan.”

Ariel and Laarni Eugenio are popular wedding planners for royalties and billionaires in Dubai. The married couple didn’t go to college but worked as props designer and set designer in the Philippines. After working for 20 years at an events company in Dubai, they decided to put up a company of their own. Now, they are one of the most sought-after and trusted royal wedding planners in Dubai.

Karen also features Gody Olis, a former boxer and tricycle driver who used to work as a laborer and tour driver in Dubai. Now, he already owns 15 land cruisers and is the only Filipino to manage a sand safari in the city.

How did they battle all the odds to become successful?

Karen also recently brought “My Puhunan’s” barangay caravan to Dubai and Abu Dhabi when she was invited, along with entrepreneur and radio anchor Carl Balita, to speak at the first ever “Prosperity Motivational Talk and Entrepreneurship Seminar.” There they talked about how OFWs should handle their money and invest it wisely.

Doris Bigornia, meanwhile, tells the touching story of Ricardo Balarosa, also named as “Kiray,” a comedian at Punchline. When his father found out he was gay when he was a kid, his father started beating him up and physically abusing him. Even though Kiray has achieved considerable success in his comedy career, his only wish is for his father to accept him. Will Kiray’s story have a happy ending?

Don’t miss “My Puhunan” this Wednesday (April 30), and “Mutya ng Masa” tomorrow (April 29), 3:45PM on ABS-CBN. For updates, follow @mypuhunan and @MutyaNgMasa on Twitter or likewww.facebook.com/MyPuhunan and www.facebook.com/MutyaNgMasa.
