ABS-CBN’s hit afternoon teleserye ‘Kadenang Ginto’ remains undefeated and is rating even higher, keeping the most watched afternoon program nationwide.
Its ample audience share is almost twice what its rival show ‘Bihag’ is getting.
In the report released by NUTAM (National Urban Television Audience Measurement), it shows that despite the fluctuation of ratings on a daily basis, ‘Kadenang Ginto’ kept a wide lead against its timeslot rival.
From May 6 to 10, the difference between the two programs reached 4%, showing the widening gap in ratings.
On Monday, May 6, ‘Kadenang Ginto’ with 9.9% viewership rating was 4.2% higher than the 5.7% rating that ‘Bihag’ garnered.
By Tuesday, May 7, the Kapuso show’s rating lowered to 5.4% (that is 0.3% lesser than its previous rating) while the Kapamilya show rose up to 10.47% (a 0.57% higher than its previous rating).
As of Wednesday, May 8, ‘Bihag’ gained an additional 0.7% viewership with 6.1% while ‘Kadenang Ginto’ garnered a rating of 10.4%.
On Thursday, May 9, ‘Kadenang Ginto’ still did better than ‘Bihag’ despite the drop in the audience share. The former gathered 10.0% rating while the latter gained 6.3% which was higher than its previous rating.
By Friday, May 10, ‘Kadenang Ginto’ got its highest rating for the week with 10.8% outscoring its rival program that collected 5.7% only.
The ratings show that ‘Kadenang Ginto’ continues to win the interests of many television viewers.
The intense and fierce face-offs and collision between the lead characters in the drama series, with their witty but savage lines, no wonder many are hooked and even ‘gigil’ especially with the characters of Daniela Mondragon-Bartolome (Dimples Romana) and her daughter Marga M. Bartolome (Andrea Brillantes), and Romina Mondragon (Beauty Gonzalez) and her daughter Cassie Mondragon (Francine Diaz).
In the season 2 of the afternoon series, expect for a more heated clash between the Mondragon and Bartolome family as the truth begins to unfold leaving a deadly plea for justice.
In last week’s episode, Marga tried to undermine Cassie’s idea for the Mother’s Day event in the diner they are working. During the event, Cassie was accused by Nadia’s mother of stealing her phone which in the end turned out that it was Daniela who framed up Cassie by putting the phone to the latter’s bag. Brothers Alvin and Hector were back to working in Camila. Romina and Daniela, again, had another brawl in the middle of their board meeting in Camila after the former exposed that the latter is the person behind the tragic death of Robert- Romina’s husband and the father of Daniela.
‘Bihag’ on the other hand, keeps a good fight though not overpassing the rival show.

In the last week’s episode, Reign Sison (Sophie Albert) , the obsessed mistress of Brylle Alejandro (Jason Abalos) has found a way to destroy the relationship of the latter with his wife Jessie (max Collins) by sending a video scandal. She even disguised as Marie to be friend with Jessie. On the party that Brylle attended, Jessie went with Marie. Jessie even mistaken the woman Brylle was with was Reign, his mistress, and attacked the woman. Brylle discovered that Marie is no other than Reign. Disguised as Marie, Reign polluted the mind of Jessie by saying the latter should not befall a victim again to Brylle. Little does the poor wife knows that she is being tricked by the mistress who would do everything just to have Brylle for her own.
The turnaround in Jessie’s character in the series is what viewers should anticipate. Last Monday, May 13, the GMA Network released a trailer of ‘Bihag’ showing the old Jessie is dead, and a new Jessie Alejandro- fiercer and ‘every mistress’ worst nightmare’ is born.
