The 90-year-old veteran actor-director Eddie Garcia is now placed on DNR, short for Do Not Resuscitate, also known as no code or allow natural death, is a legal order, written or oral depending on the country, that a person does (or will) not want (to) receive cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if that person’s heart stops beating. Sometimes it also prevents other medical interventions.
This was according to the post by MJ Malfori, entertainment anchor and correspondent of TV5.

The female reporter quoted Garcia’s family doctor Dt. Tony Rebosa: “Pls be informed that the family of Mr. Eddie Garcia has not authorized nor has it consented to withdrawal of life support. They have however agreed to place him on DNR status. Thank you.”
Based on a report from PhilStar.com, which mentioned that Garcia was rushed to Mary Johnston Hospital in Tondo, Manila, on June 8, when the senior actor tripped and incurred a neck fracture while shooting a GMA 7 TV series.
Doctors debunked earlier reports that the patient was hospitalized due to a heart attack and stroke.
From Mary Johnston Hospital, the award-winning actor was moved to Makati Medical Center and on a report on Friday, June 14, as tweeted by MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN: “The latest medical bulletin issued on July 14, 12noon by Makati Medical Center states that Eddie Garcia continues to be in critical condition, still in a state of coma and still dependent on ventilator and medications to support his blood pressure.”

Dr. Rebosa added, “They have however agreed to place him on DNR status.”
