Maine Mendoza remained uninterested to do another heavy drama project.
In an interview with GMA News, Maine said she is not yet inclined to accept a heavy drama role again in the near future.
Maine is set to grace the Christmas episode of GMA fantasy series Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.
The Kapuso actress will take the role of a Christmas ornament who will be given life and transform into a human being.
With the heartwarming theme, Mendoza was asked if she’s now ready to do heavy drama again.
But Maine quickly refused the idea saying she still preferred light roles for now.
“Ay hindi! Sabi ko sa sarili ko awat na ako at kakatapos ko lang, e. So sa drama side, siguro sa family ko,” Maine said.
“Dito [sa Daig], ako siguro ‘yung pampa-light ng story.” she added.

Previously, Maine already admitted the reason she preferred comedy or light drama than heavy drama roles.
According to Maine, she already experienced doing a teleserye and she had a hard time doing crying scenes.
“Naranasan ko na rin po gumawa ng mga teleserye, at talagang nahirapan po ako sa iyakan…”
Maine and Alden Richards top-billed GMA Network’s primetime teledrama Destined To be Yours in 2017 which only lasted for three months.
“Dito po kasi, less ang pressure, masaya lagi at mahuhusay po itong mga kasama ko na magpatawa.”
