  • He apologized and insisted that he didn’t see it as a joke.
  • Ejercito took down his post as it was an honest mistake.

JV Ejercito unknowingly shared an edited infographic of COVID-19 cases including one case of “Tanga” which may be pertaining to Senator Koko Pimentel.

Pimentel was a Person Under Investigation (PUI) when he went to the hospital with his wife who was about to give birth and possibly infected patients, doctors, and other frontliners when it turned out he was COVID-19 positive.

This move has been called plain stupid by many netizens.

Showing the number of cases, he captioned his post “Getting scarier by the day…God help us.”

Oops! I didnt see the info graphic as a joke! Sorry about that!

However, he failed to notice that what he shared was an edited infographic that included one case of tanga.

Took down the info graphic because I really didn’t see that it was a joke. My honest mistake.

— JV Ejercito (@jvejercito) March 25, 2020

Ejercito took down his post as soon as netizens reacted to it.

Netizen Teddy Herbosa asked him if his post was a joke. Ejercito replied that it was an honest mistake and that he just wanted to show the increase of cases.

It was an honest mistake Doc. Wanted to show the increase in cases today which is scary. Realized it was a joke when people reacted.

Director Saturnino Javier of Makati Medical Center Medical told CNN Philippines that Senator Koko Pimentel violated his home quarantine, exposed health workers to possible infection which is unacceptable.

“He violated his home quarantine, exposed health workers to possible infection, and therefore, to me, that is reckless and unacceptable,” Makati Medical Center Medical Director Saturnino Javier said.
