Robin Padilla calls out lawmakers who continue to push for ABS-CBN franchise discussion

Action-star and known die-hard Duterte supporter Robin Padilla took to social media to call out House solons who continue to raise issues about the ABS-CBN franchise.

In a Facebook post, Binoe said these lawmakers should just shut up and concentrate more on other issues that needed more attention.

Padilla’s comment came on the heels of the recent statements by Reps Lito Atienza, Edcel Lagman, and Joy Tambunting about Speaker Cayetano’s involvement in the denial of ABS-CBN franchise application.

According to the three Representatives, Cayetano influenced the result of the voting on the ABS-CBN franchise at the committee on the legislative franchise level as a gift to President Rodrigo Duterte so he can retain his speakership.

Cayetano is supposed to step down in October to transfer the speakership to Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco through their term-sharing agreement.

Meanwhile, Robin said instead of lingering on the franchise issue, congress should find solutions to the problems facing DepEd and the students in this time of the pandemic.

He added that these lawmakers should focus on finding a way on how to implement ABS-CBN’s offer of using their network transmission to bring education to every student who lacked access to the internet.

In ending his post, Robin asked congress to work together in addressing the COVID crisis and stop politicking for the sake of every Filipino.
