MANILA, Philippines, September 2020 — PLDT, the Philippines’ largest and only integrated telco company, recently provided the telecommunication requirements of the One Hospital Command Center (OHCC) located in Makati City. These include high-speed internet and communication tools such as 15 landlines and 20 units of PLDT Landline Plus for unlimited calls.
To date, PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications have equipped over 100 hospitals and quarantine sites through WiFi installations and other technical support.

Department of Health Undersecretary and Treatment Czar Dr. Leopoldo J. Vega, who also heads the OHCC, is grateful for the support.

Earlier, in a live briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque personally requested PLDT Chairman and CEO Manuel V Pangilinan to provide telecommunications support for the OHCC, to which Pangilinan readily accommodated. He ended it with a statement that underscores PLDT’s commitment to help the country in its fight against COVID-19: “More to come, Mr. Secretary.”
