GMA Network offers new love teams that will grace our TV screens.
With the current pandemic and the shift in television landscape brought about by the shutdown of ABS-CBN and the rise of digital platforms, GMA is offering new tandems that might attract the renewed attention of TV viewers.
On Wednesday, October 7, GMA announced the new partnership of Ruru Madrid and Shaira Diaz for their upcoming action-drama adventure series Lolong.
Shaira can’t help but cry upon learning the good news. She said she’s very thankful to GMA Public Affairs for choosing her to do the project.
“Nahihirapan po ako via Zoom na umarte pero sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa prod, sa Public Affairs for choosing me,” said Shaira
Ruru, who was originally handpicked to do the project meanwhile shared his excitement to work with his new leading lady.
“Finally, may nahanap na pong perfect para doon sa role, and si Shaira po iyon. I mean, hindi ko pa po nakakatrabaho si Shaira pero lagi ko po siya napapanood at nagagalingan po talaga ako,” Ruru said.
Shaira was a product of TV5’s talent and reality show Artista Academy. But in 2016 she transferred to GMA network where became part of several shows like Trops, Contessa, Pamilya Roces, and Love You Two. Lolong will be Shaira’s first lead role in a Kapuso drama series.
Meanwhile, aside from the Ruru and Shaira tandem, GMA network also launched the tandem of Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda.
Mikee and Kelvin are set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy series The Lost Recipe.
In a report by Lhar Santiago for 24 Oras, the 2 said they were surprised when they were announced to take the lead roles in the upcoming series.
Kelvin shared he took several coffees before the announcement because he wasn’t really expecting to get the role. But he’s very happy after learning the news.
“Nakailang kape na ako sa sobrang preparation ko, talagang wala akong alam na talagang napili na. Nakakatuwa na nakakanginig sa sobrang saya.”
Mikee on the other hand said she really prayed for the project and she’s happy that she’ll be working with Kelvin for the first time.
“‘Yun po talaga pinagdadasal ko ever since and I’m happy it’s with Kelvin din I’m excited to work with him and the whole team,” Mikee said.
