Globe Makes ‘New Normal’ Movie Experience Affordable and Convenient, with GMovies and Upstream; To Bring ‘MMFF’ Straight to Filipino Homes this Christmas

The pandemic has been taking a great toll on many industries, and even if most restrictions have already been eased by the government, businesses are still struggling to bounce back.

Taking some of the bluntest impacts of the pandemic is the movie industry, with movie distribution and viewing suffering the most. Recently, there have been efforts to present alternatives intended to simulate theater viewing experience at home.

As most households have become heavily-reliant on digital streaming platforms to meet their television and movie demands, local distribution companies shift their attention to online streaming to deliver movies straight to the moviegoer’s home.

GMovies, whose recent partnership with UPSTREAMPH brought a string of Regal classics to Filipino movie lovers, is poised the fulfill the dream of bringing immersive viewing to every Filipino home.

At the moment, GMovies and Upstream serve as exclusive streaming and distribution partners, which runs until December 6. Moviegoers can now book tickets via GMovies app, and stream award-winning Films such as Babae at Baril, Cleaners, Balangiga, and Oda sa Wala, on the UpstreamPH official website, for only PhP150.00 each.

Audiences can now rediscover the world of films right from the comfort of their home through the convenient services of GMovies. Through GMovies app, moviegoers will no longer face the hassle of long queues at ticket booths. As the pandemic still present health risks, GMovies and Upstream offer audiences a convenient, hassle-free, and more importantly, safe, movie experience. Ticket buyers are also accommodated with 48hours to stream their purchased movies, which means audiences are given complete liberty to finish the movie at any given time within the next 48 hours, after purchase.

For only PhP59.00, MMFF patrons can relive the magic and nostalgia of pre-pandemic movie viewing, as GMovies and Upstream offer an impressive collection of festival classics from previous MMFF editions. This is also to prepare anticipating moviegoers for the start of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Booking tickets for the incoming MMFF is now possible through the GMovies app, which can be readily downloaded on Playstore or the App Store. Users can register using their mobile number or by linking their facebook account, and can pay through their credit/debit cards, GCash, or by Globe/TM postpaid and prepaid load. This can also be done by logging in to the GMovies.ph site.

Filipino moviegoers can indulge in the convenience, comfort, and affordability that GMovies will offer this pandemic. UPSTREAM and GMovies are committed to enabling Filipino audiences to recreate their favorite movie experiences, while still protecting content creators and distributors from piracy, through the #PlayItRight campaign, which intends to educate online moviegoers of their responsibilities as consumers. Using cutting-edge technology developed in partnership with global and industry-leading media delivery providers, Upstream ensures that all its contents are protected from piracy and other unauthorized streaming and downloading.
