Ion Perez, better known as ‘Kuya Escort’ in It’s Showtime is set to have his first-ever leading man act in the film ‘Kaka’.
He is paired with rising Viva artist Sunshine Guimary. They will be joined by Jerald Napoles, Maui Taylor, Gina Pareño, and Rosanna Roces in the said adult-comedy movie.
Guimary already reached out to Vice Ganda, Ion’s real-life partner, and asked for permission for the expected daring scenes with Ion.

According to Ion, Vice is supportive of his newest project. The comedian is confident that Ion can perform his role very well.
“Kaya mo ‘yan, may tiwala ako sa ‘yo. Tataya ako sa ‘yo,” Vice told Ion.
Despite this, Ion is still pressured about this film since his character is rich. He is having a hard time acting the part because he grew up in a simple life.
“Yun ang talagang hindi ko alam kung paano ko ikikilos—kung paano gumalaw yung isang anak-mayaman saka kung paano maging isang anak-mayaman,” he said.
However, Ion assured him that he is doing his best, and he already solicited Vice Ganda’s advice.
“Humihingi naman po ako ng tips sa kanya kasi alam naman po natin na si Meme, pagdating sa ganyan, professional naman po dsiya,” Ion said.

Vice Ganda revealed about his more than a year relationship with Perez during ‘Magpasikat’ of It’s Showtime‘s 10th anniversary in 2019.
During the press conference of Vice’s MMFF entry last 2019, The Mall, The Merrier, he admitted that his relationship with Ion made him work harder and inspired him to do more projects.
“Sa akin po malaking tulong kasi inspired akong magtrabaho. Mayroon akong totoong ngiti sa mukha ko, masaya ang puso ko. Masarap magtrabaho na masaya ang puso mo. Masarap magtrabaho na kinikilig ka. Masarap magtrabaho na inspired ka at masarap magtrabaho na may minamahal ka at sobrang positibo lahat ng para sa akin.”
However, considering the judgmental public, their relationship also earned criticisms. Most people are accusing Ion of taking advantage of the comedian for fame and money, which Vice denied.
Recently, in Vice’s YouTube vlog, Ion divulged the most hurtful comment that he received when they publicly revealed their relationship.
He said, “Yung sinabihan din yung nanay ko na ano, na mukhang pera.
“’Yon yung pinakamasakit sa akin. Sa akin, okay lang, e, tanggap ko yun, e. Pero yung sa nanay ko, parang ano, e, nakasama ko yun, alam ko naman ‘yon nun, e, nakasama ko sa hirap, e,” he added.
In October 2020, the couple celebrated their second anniversary. The public is witness to their relationship getting stronger each day.
Aga Muhlach: ‘Dakilang Bugaloo’.
In August last year, Vice Ganda tracked back on how Aga Muhlach became the bridge for him to meet Ion.
It happened during Muhlach’s guesting in 2017 on the Sunday late-night show of Vice Ganda, Gandang Gabi Vice. Aga randomly picked Ion, who was recently crown as Mister Filipinas at the time, from the audience.
Years after, Vice never thought that he would meet Ion again in It’s Showtime. When they met, Ion introduced himself as the same guy who Aga introduced him before.

“Hindi ko na yun natandaan, tapos after a few years, nandito na si Ion sa Showtime, dito na kame nagkita,” Vice said.
“Nung may eksena na, tsaka niya sinabi, ako yung pinakilala sayo ni Aga Muhlach.”
With this, Vice appreciated Aga’s role in their relationship and is planning to have him as one of their wedding sponsors in the future.
