Remember how Regine Velasquez-Alcasid blew away 98 Degrees when she sang the boyband’s song The Hardest Thing in a Songbird style?
Asia’s Songbird Velasquez-Alcasid quickly reminisced her performance with the American boy band, 98 Degrees on SOP back then.
She was one of the lead performers in GMA’s Sunday variety show, SOP, from 1998 until 2010. She was known for her performances with international artists on the said show.
During her Thursday virtual interview with BrightWin Ninangs, she shared that the band members are cool, except for Nick Lachey, who she described as boastful.
Justin Jeffre, Jeff Timmons, and brothers Drew and Nick Lachey were the founding members and vocalists of the American pop and R&B vocal group, 98 Degrees.
She also added that she is annoyed by Lachey’s arrogance which challenged her to overpower the latter in their performance.

98 Degrees was in the Philippines in 1999 for their debut concert tour Heat It Up, to promote their second debut album, 98 Degrees and Rising.
The Songbird sang the song 98 Degrees’ The Hardest Thing with the group on SOP. But evidently, it wasn’t the ‘hardest thing’ for Velasquez as she devoured Lachey for his overbearing attitude.
With this, a fan of Velasquez looked back on her performance and took it to social media.

Nick Lachey was married to fellow singer Jessica Simpson in 2002.
However, he admitted that they didn’t know much about each other and cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ in his divorce to Simpson in 2006.
After Simpson, he married Vanessa Minnillo a Filipino-Italian beauty, who appeared in his 2011 What’s Left of Me music video. They got married in 2011, with three children now.
There were also rumors that Lachey had a relationship with Minnillo while he was still married to Simpson.
In 2006, Lachey also reportedly hooked up with his ex-wife’s best friend and assistant CaCee Cobb at a party in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s digital concert, Freedom is pushing through on February 28, as announced by ABS-CBN Events and IME.
Directed by Paolo Valenciano with musical director Raul Mitra, Freedom will stream simultaneously on ktx.ph, iWantTFC and TFC IPTV.
Originally, the digital concert was scheduled for February 14, but was postponed after someone with Covid-19 was exposed to Velasquez, causing her to go into quarantine.
Velasquez tested negative for Covid-19 and resumed her preparations for the show.
