Raffy Tulfo called the attention of DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III on the COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the country.
In a segment of Tulfo’s show ‘Raffy Tulfo in Action’ that premiered on YouTube on March 26, he said that Duque should stop speaking nonsense and start focusing on vaccine distribution.
“Hoy Duque, itama mo na pasatsat satsat mo, pa-good shot good-shot ka pa. Unahin mo ‘yung bakuna,” Tulfo said.
Tulfo then mentioned that DOH deliberately forbade private sector companies to acquire COVID-19 vaccines for their employees or workers. He speculated that health secretary Duque made this move just to make money out of these companies.
“Nung late 2020, binan ng Gobyerno ang pagkuha ng private sectors ng vaccines. Pero nung January, nag-agree ang government na 50-50 deal na papasok ‘yung vaccine. Then March 17, nawala na, hindi na pwede. Lahat ng klase ng transaksyon regarding sa bakuna, kailangan dadaan pa sa DOH,” said Tulfo.
“Pabayaan na kase ang private sector na mag-angkat ng mga bakuna sa kanilang empleyado. Laking tipid na yan, private sector ang nagvo-volunteer.
“Ang gobyerno pro-problemahin niyo na lang ang pag-angkat ng vaccines para sa mga poorest of the poor na hindi maka-afford,” he added.
He also called Duque a snake saying, “Payagan mo na kase Duque alam ko namang kaya mo naman kung gustuhin mo. Kausapin mo ‘yung mga dapat mong kausapin dyang mga kasamahan mo, pare-pareho naman kayong mga ahas.”
“Kailangan natin ng vaccine, nakakahiya naman ‘to. ‘Yung mga bansa na very poor, mas poor pa sa atin ay nakaka-angkat na ng bakuna. Tayo donation pa rin,” he added.
Tulfo later apologized for his outburst saying that he only spoke out of frustration.
“I’m sorry po secretary Duque kung ako po ay nakapagsalita. I think this is just out of my frustration,” he said.
Recently, Francisco Duque III admitted that there were ‘gaps’ in the policy of reporting confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country amid the surge of new cases.
According to an article by Inquirer, Duque said “This would require a policy review as to when the antigen test results will be counted if positive.
“This is something that is going to be addressed by the concerned office and the [Research Institute for Tropical Medicine], which is our technical arm in terms of testing, we’ll get their recommendation with regard to your very well taken point,” he added.
