On April 8, ShowBT Pinoy Pop Girl Group KAIA shared how they looked up to SB19 and other PPop artists for inspiration at the media conference for their latest single, Blah, Blah.

KAIA Sophia highlighted how their group considered and learned from their seniors, SB19.

“We take inspiration from [of course] each other and other PPop groups. Actually, because we look up to our seniors, SB19, we respect their craft, [and] we also [take into consideration] that maybe we can learn something from them. And maybe, we can write another story about this.”

KAIA Angela thanked SB19 for pushing Pinoy Pop into the forefront.

“We are thankful po, we’re really grateful for our seniors po, SB19 na talagang one of the reasons why ang dami ng PPop groups na lumalabas ngayon, siguro po masasabi ko lang po, humihingi rin po kami ng advices from them and they are giving us advices po pagdating sa music, sa pagiging artist and how to perform like them.”

She also revealed they wanted to take after their seniors, especially their passion for performing.

“And gusto rin po namin na maging katulad nila na talagang makikita mo ‘yung passion nila for music and talagang nakikita po ‘yun ng public kasi when they perform, they do their best. And gusto rin po namin na ‘yung KAIA, pag nakita nila, makikita po nila ‘yung fire sa eyes namin na we want to show the world what we practiced, and what we trained for a long time.”

KAIA Charice detailed some of the advice their group received from SB19.

KAIA Angela also added other words of wisdom SB19 Pablo shared with them in producing music.

“Since si Kuya Pablo po, kilala na na song writer, na producer ng kanilang own song, pero po sinabi niya po sa min na parang–naglolokohan pa po kami sa umpisa na parang, siyempre po feeling po namin na parang ang babaw ng mga words, sabi niya, ‘Wag niyo pagtawanan ‘yan kasi diyan lahat nagsisimula.’ And nagsimula rin daw po siya doon.

“Siguro po ang nabigay niyang advice ay to read more books, ng mga poetry. And wag matakot magkamali since doon tayo matuto.”

KAIA Charlotte also disclosed that SB19 often visit the girl group during their training.

“And everytime na they visit our studio, palagi po nilang namo-monitor ‘yung mga performances namin aside from the compliment that we get, mas memorable pa rin po talaga ‘yung mga sinasabi po nila about sa performances po namin, like, ipakita niyo lang kung ano ‘yung kaya niyo. Wag niyo ilock ‘yung sarili niyo.”

KAIA lowered the music video for their most recent single, Blah, Blah, on April 8.

ShowBT Philippines launched their first-ever in-house P-pop girl group named KAIA, with their members including Angela, Charlotte, Charice, Alexa, and Sophia.
