Manila, Philippines — Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) recently announced a partnership with Modess, a sanitary product provider, to further the organization’s goal of attaining menstrual health for all Filipinas, eliminating the stigma around periods and allowing all women the opportunity to succeed without worrying about their menstrual health and hygiene.
“It has always been our goal to inspire Filipino women, especially Gen Z who we at Modess refer to as the #GenFree, to pursue their passions and dreams by equipping them with the knowledge they need to take charge of their menstrual hygiene and health now that they are starting to move more in the new normal. It is our hope that young girls will be inspired by the stories shared by Miss Universe Philippines and the finalists about their own menstrual health journeys,” explains Rehi Dimayuga, Marketing Manager for Feminine Care of Johnson & Johnson (Philippines), Inc.
The battle for the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 title and crown is heating up following the announcement of the Top 32 finalists, and as the coronation night draws nearer. Having surpassed the initial competition challenges, the finalists must stay on top of their game, staying empowered and confident to fully be #UniquelyBeautiful.
“On days when they have their period, young women can count on Modess for superior protection and all-day comfort so they can go on achieving their goals,” adds Rehi Dimayuga. “In the same way, because of Modess’ superior protection and all-day comfort, our Miss Universe Philippines finalists can pursue the title and the crown knowing they are protected.”
Last month, Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu announced the launch of her own menstrual equity coalition, in her home country of India. The coalition will consist of giants in the menstrual equity and non-profit space including Plan India, DDB For Good, and social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham. Together, their goal is to achieve menstrual equity for 5 million women and girls by 2025.
