Television host and actress Ryzza Mae Dizon shared a childhood experience that left a lasting impact on her and eventually became one of her biggest motivations in life.

During her guest appearance on Toni Gonzaga’s online program, Ryzza recalled an incident that happened before she joined ‘Eat Bulaga,’ when she was only around five or six years old.
According to Ryzza, she was playing with the grandchild of a wealthy neighbor when she accidentally bumped into an expensive vase.
“Meron pong kapitbahay kami na malaki ang bahay tapos may balikbayan siyang apo na dumating, nakipaglaro po ako. Tapos medyo nasagi po ‘yung vase. Nasabihan po ako ng ‘Mas mahal pa ‘yan sa buhay mo.’ Parang tumatak po ‘yun sa akin na balang araw magsisipag talaga ako para ‘di ako masabihan ng ganu’n…” she shared.
Host Toni Gonzaga then asked how old she was at the time.
“Bago po ako mag-Eat Bulaga, mga 6 po or 5,” Ryzza replied.
Reflecting on the story, Toni pointed out the impact words can have on children.
“Reminder ‘yan sa lahat sa atin na ang simpleng salita natin, hanggang 20 years old, dadalhin ng isang bata ‘yun,” Toni said.
Ryzza admitted that she never forgot the remark and carried it with her through the years.
“Hindi ko po kinalimutan ‘yun. May plot twist ‘yun, Ms. Toni,” she revealed.
Curious about the ending of the story, Toni asked, “Ano ‘yung plot twist?”
Ryzza then delivered the surprising conclusion.
“Nu’ng nanalo po ako (sa Eat Bulaga), nabili ko po ‘yung bahay nila,” she said.
The revelation drew reactions from viewers online, many of whom praised Ryzza for transforming a painful childhood memory into motivation to work hard and succeed.
From a young girl who once felt hurt by a comment about her worth, Ryzza has grown into one of the country’s most recognizable television personalities, proving that determination, perseverance, and self-belief can turn life’s difficult moments into powerful inspiration.
