True to its commitment of delivering “Higit sa balita, AKSYON!,” TV5 provides the most comprehensive coverage of this year’s Elections with NEWS5’s Pagbabago 2013.

Come May 13, the Kapatid Network’s efforts to bring the latest news, commentary and social insights on the polls will encompass different forms of media (television, radio, Internet, mobile and on-ground). With NEWS5 integrated multimedia initiatives, Filipino viewers can rest assured that TV5 has all aspects of the midterm elections covered.

“Elections determine what kind of governance will rule our country for years to come and with Pagbabago 2013, Filipinos should stand and be counted. We encourage Filipinos to participate and be more vigilant in the coming Elections,” said NEWS5 chief Luchi Cruz Valdes. “What TV5 is doing with Pagbabago 2013 is testament to the Kapatid Network’s commitment to realizing full media convergence as a public service. Whatever screen or media device Filipinos choose to use come Monday, they can rest assured that the Kapatid Network will protect their aspirations as the country heads to the polls,” she added.

Pagbabago 2013 demonstrates NEWS5’s expertise and reach as its pool of journalists document the events concerning organizations, branches of government, political parties and candidates involved in this year’s Elections. Viewers can expect continuous updates on TV5 this Monday starting with Good Morning Club at 5:00AM. Filipinos will also remain informed well after the polls close with a Pagbabago 2013 special from 11:30PM on Monday until 5:00AM on Tuesday morning. Viewers can also experience live and uninterrupted news coverage via AksyonTV. Those on-the-move can also tune in to Radyo 92.3 NewsFM in Metro Manila, while those in Visayas and Mindanao can keep track of live reports via Radyo5 101.9 NewsFM.

Online news portal InterAksyon.com has a dedicated microsite (available via http://interaksyon.com/pagbabago2013) featuring the latest news on those running for office, as well as the organizations and parties involved in the polls. While on the site, click on the Issues Tracker tab to read more about what this year’s Senatorial candidates think about some of the most pressing concerns like reproductive health, same-sex unions and freedom of information. Voters can also pit Senatoriables against one another in the virtual Senatorial Match-up to help them decide which ones most deserve their vote. Filipinos can stream Pagbabago 2013’s real-time reports for free via trans-media news platform News 5 Everywhere (available via http://news5.com.ph). Available via TV5 Live (http://www.tv5.com.ph/tv5live), the Kapatid Network will also hold a 16-hour social webcast to field election-related sentiments of Filipino netizens. Those on Twitter can participate in the online discussion by using #Pagbabago2013. They may also submit videos documenting election-related events in their respective communities.

Another exciting online initiative of the Kapatid Network for Pagbabago 2013 involves the Pinoy indie music scene as free streaming site Balut Radio (http://balutradio.com) holds a special live session called Boto Jam from 5:00 to 8:00PM. During the streamcast, Kapatid celebrities and independent OPM bands will join the whole country in making sure all ballots cast are counted and handled responsibly.

Voters can also count on RESCUE5 personnel who will be stationed at different polling centers, namely Ramon Magsaysay High School in Manila, Makati High School, Batasan Hills National High School, Cebu City Central School and Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Sr. Central Elementary School in Davao. RESCUE5 stations in these schools will be open to serve those heading to their precincts on May 13 and 14, where the public can avail the following FREE health services: blood pressure monitoring, vital signs checks and wheelchair assistance. Voters can also approach authorized RESCUE5 staff to make free phone calls, charge their mobile devices and cool off with free drinking water. These assistance centers and their services are made possible in partnership with: Crystal Clear, Maynilad, Nature’s Spring, One Meralco Foundation, PLDT, Skyflakes and SMART.

Keep track of the latest election-related updates via NEWS5’s Pagbabago 2013 on TV5 and Aksyon TV. Real-time Web and social updates may also be accessed via online news portal InterAksyon.com, the Kapatid Network’s official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/TV5Manila) and its official Twitter accounts (@TV5manila, @News5AKSYON and @InterAksyon).
