Is it true that Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo is only performing in ASAP Natin ‘To again, because of her parents?
According to veteran columnist and TV host Cristy Fermin, Geronimo was forced to make an ‘ASAP’ comeback out of concern for her parents, whom she had not seen in a while.
In a YouTube video uploaded on her Showbiz Now Na channel on December 18, Fermin said there are rumors saying Geronimo’s much-publicized comeback to the ASAP stage was compelled by her desire to continue helping her parents, even though they are not on speaking terms right now.
Fermin shared, “May kwento pa na kaya pala napilitan itong si Sarah Geronimo na mag-ASAP ulit, meron pa lang kasunduan noon na lahat ng kikitain ni Sarah Geronimo sa ABS-CBN mapupunta kina Mommy Divine. So natural walang napupunta sa kanila dahil hindi nga nagtatrabaho si Sarah sa Dos diba?”
Her co-host Rommel Chika, meanwhile, chimed in and asked, “So kaya ba bumalik sya?”
Fermin confirmed, “Na naman. Yun ang kwentong talagang pinagpipistahan ngayon.”
Following the ABS-CBN shutdown and the start of the pandemic, the singer decided to take a break from the Kapamilya Sunday noontime variety show. She did appear several times, but only in a pre-recorded music video prior to her personal on-stage appearance last Sunday, December 18.
Meanwhile, according to another veteran showbiz columnist, Lolit Solis, Sarah Geronimo’s mother, Divine, is currently embroiled in a labor dispute with her employees. These employees were allegedly not getting paid on time.
On Sunday, December 18, Solis wrote on Instagram, “Nakakaawa naman si Mommy Divine ni Sarah Geronimo kung totoo nga na balak ng mga nagtatrabaho sa kanya na magreklamo dahil sa unfair labor practice niya ginagawa niya daw Salve at Gorgy.”
Aside from Lolit Solis, comedian/host/talent manager Ogie Diaz also mentioned the issue that’s currently hounding Mommy Divine.
In his Youtube video published on Saturday, December 17, Diaz mentioned a conversation with one of Mommy Divine’s employees who claimed that they were not being paid on time. He added that they were asked to set an appointment with Sarah’s mother before they could get their salary and other belongings in the office.
Diaz added, “Matagal na silang nagrereklamo kay Mommy Divine pero matigas daw si Mommy Divine. Talagang patakaran ni mommy divine ay pumunta kayo, magpa appointment muna kayo bago ko ibigay yung sahod ninyo [at] ibigay ang mga gamit niyo.”
