On December 27, seasoned showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin and her Showbiz Now Na co-hosts mentioned that the award-winning performer Jake Zyrus was a victim of sexual abuse while in the United States.
The three first claimed that one of Zyrus’s live concerts in the U.S. flopped with only two attendees purchasing a ticket.
Fermin then asserted that Zyrus perpetrated the rumors about the sexual abuse.
“Ang dami niyang isyung pinalalabas ngayon mga Ka-Chika. Siya raw po ay minolestiya… sino naman kaya ang momolestiya sa kaniya? Hinalay, sa madaling salita.”
Her co-host Romel Chika responded, “Ano ba namang pasabog na ‘yan, dapat sa December 31 pa ‘yan.”
Wendell Alvarez pressed on, asking who allegedly committed the sexual assault against Zyrus.
In May 2021, Zyrus discussed how he wanted to fix his mental health and address his anxiety and depression.
