On March 3, Kapuso star Ashley Ortega expressed her gratitude for landing her dream role as a figure skater on a teleserye.
At the media conference for ‘Hearts On Ice,’ Ortega, a real-life figure skater, said that her dream role came unexpectedly.
She shared, “Siyempre, unang-una, I was really grateful na nakuha ko ‘yung dream role ko. It was very unexpected. Siyempre with the help of the whole production, it happened. At first, at the back of my head po, parang medyo imposible mangyari kasi parang sino pa ba ang marunong mag-skate, how will the production adjust? So at first, noong malaman ko, naiyak din ako.”
Ortega acknowledged the pressure of taking on a physically demanding role as a figure skater.
She then revealed they are taping some parts of the upcoming Kapuso series.
Ortega revealed, “So it was really overwhelming and ngayon focused pa rin kami sa taping kasi on going pa rin ‘yung set, marami pa po kaming hindi nagagawa. It’s a long way to go. So, hindi pa rin talaga super nagsi-sink in, but I’m really, really grateful that I get to do figure skating and acting at the same time.”
As for ‘Hearts on Ice,’ the upcoming Kapuso series stars Ortega and Xian Lim.
Joining the cast are Amy Austria, Rita Avila, Tonton Gutierrez, Lito Pimentel, Ina Feleo, Cheska Iñigo, Kim Perez, Ruiz Gomez, Roxie Smith, Shuvee Etrata, and Skye Chua. Filipino Olympic figure skater Michael Martinez also has a special appearance in the upcoming Kapuso series.
Under the direction of Dominic Zapata, ‘Hearts on Ice’ premieres March 13 on GMA Telebabad.
