On March 11, Filipino drag performer and one of the contestants of the first season of Drag Race Philippines, Eva Le Queen cited the importance of representation for drag and the LGBTQIA+ community in mainstream media through her first acting role in ‘The Write One.’
At the media conference for ‘The Write One,’ Le Queen admitted feeling pressure from her first acting role.
She shared, “[This] is my first acting engagement. You know, I’m a performer kasi, I do drag. And yung last show ko naman was a reality show. So sobrang excited ko and sobrang laking– may pressure, I think, for me, kasi [this is] the first representation of drag in the mainstream other than reality shows.”
She then noted how the team behind the Viu-GMA Network series gave her creative freedom to work on her character as “Queenie”.
She then noted how proud she feels to represent the LGBTQIA+ community and work with the talented cast behind the series.
She added, “Mula kila Bianca, kila Miss Lot, kila ate Jas, we’re surrounded by people with so much passion– kahit wala kang experience sa acting, you’ll do your best. I’m just really happy to be at ‘The Write One.’ [This] is the right teleserye for my first every series. Thank you so much.”
As for their TV fantasy series, ‘The Write One’ stars Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid.

Under King Mark Baco’s direction,’ The Write One’ airs Monday to Friday at 9:35 PM on GMA primetime.
