The movie Papa Mascot, written by Ralston Jover, is based on a true story. The plot follows Nicole, a child, kidnapped at birth and meets her parents for the first time.
However, the story takes an emotional turn when Nicole forms bond with her abductor.
In a press conference on April 17, Director Louie Ignacio stated that the movie is based on real-life events, with interviews from a resource person about Gabby’s role.
He shared, “Binased namin siya sa totoong nangyayari. Alam naman nating lahat na uso ang mga tokhang. May mga nangyayari, may napapabalita na, napapagbintangan ka lang napapatay ka na, so umiikot doon. Hindi inimbento, may talagang resource person na ininterview si Ralston Jover tungkol doon sa role na ginampanan ni Gabby.”
Ken Chan delivers a brilliant performance as the abductor, and Gabby Eigenmann portrays the real-father of the abducted child. Erin Rose Espirite plays the role of Nicole, the abducted child. The film also has a talented supporting cast, including Miles Ocampo, Sue Prado, and Liza Diño.
Directed by Louie Ignacio and produced by Wide International, Papa Mascot promises to be a thought-provoking experience. Jover’s script portrays the harsh realities of today’s society.
Papa Mascot is set to hit cinemas on April 26.
