Why You Should See It:
One can right away tell that the new Kapuso daytime series, Seed of Love, is a traditional drama by its first episode alone. A meet-cute moment put together two people who later became madly in love with each other, only to be halted by another woman [hellbent to preventing their love affair from blossoming].
There are signs that the series wll explode with ultra-dramatic confrontations and campy iscenes much sooner than one might expect.
That said, like most recent dramas offered by GMA Network, this Glaiza de Castro-starrer, is not without intriguing twists. Set to shed light upon the subject of in-vitro fertilization.
Seed of Love is yet another attempt of GMA Network to offer its viewers a medical drama or something like it.
It could be the next Abot Kamay Ng Pangarap? Who knows? With another health-related concept in the likes of its other afternoon dramas (like Raising Mamay, Unica Hija, and among others).–it suggests that its driven by the same motivation.
Kapuso stars Glaiza de Castro and Mike Tan play lead characters, Eileen and Bobby, respectively. A road accident involving a pregnant woman had them working together to pull off a successful baby delivery. Smitten by each other, both Eileen and Bobby got convinced they are for each other. In their midst, however, stands the latter’s bratty ex-girlfriend, Alexa (Valerie Concepcion), who is determined to destroy their relationship.
The first few episodes of the series are [still] marked by lighthearted and cutesy romantic moments, which made it effective–for the audience to root for Eileen and Bobby.
A surprising chemistry there is, but what makes it stand out–is how De Castro and Tan made them work with their incredible performances. Concepcion’s take on Alexa seems warming up for possibly over-dramatic villain-style scheming in future episodes. How this series will execute and give new twists to traditional plot lines–it will inevitably traverse, probably what it will make it soar and remarkable.
