Kapamilya television host and comedian Melai Cantiveros has come to the defense of her eldest daughter, Mela Francisco, after she received criticism from netizens for a playful remark she made about her mother.
Melai, one of the hosts of “Magandang Buhay,” addressed the issue on social media and emphasized that the comment was all in good fun and that she raises her children to be respectful and well-mannered.
The controversy started when a video clip surfaced online, showing Mela playfully teasing her mother, Melai Cantiveros, during a candid moment. In the clip, Mela jokingly told her mother that she still looked like a monkey despite using beauty products. “Mga Kamsamii di na sana ako magreact pero pag anak na ang pag usapan di pwede guyssssssss , kasi bata lang ang anak ko guys . Di ako papayag na kng anu anu sasabihin nyu sa anak ko dahil ako ang dumidisplina sa mga anak ko ,kilala ko mga anak ko madasalin mga yan pati mundo pinagdarasal nga ng mga yan 😘🙏🏻.” Melai wrote in her post.
She further highlighted her children’s positive qualities, stating, “Disiplinado mga yan at Masayahin , alam nga mga anak ko guys kung kailan ang kulitan at kailan ang seryosohan .
