On September 5, ‘Video City’ stars Ruru Madrid and Yassi Pressman discussed the difference between the kissing scenes from the ’90s to the present.
At the media conference for ‘Video City,’ Madrid remarked that the kissing scenes from the past seemed ‘full of love.’
“Parang, ako masasabi ko na magkaiba po. Kasi dati, kapag nag-kiss simple lang. ‘Yung parang full of love, may ilang. Ngayon kasi parang di na naiilang, parang diretso na. Kumakagat.”
Pressman responded with a different opinion, “Ganon ba, parang hindi naman lahat ganon. Hindi naman. Depende lang.”
As for their pairing for the upcoming Viva Films flick ‘Video City,’ Madrid noted that their love team was not ‘hard-sell.’
“Hindi kami hardsell, like puso, puso kami kung magtrabaho. Hindi ‘yung tipong pina-plano namin kung ano ‘yung dapat naming gawin or dapat ganito kami. Hindi eh, mas more on puso, mas doon kami sa tiwala namin sa isa’t isa dahil the first time pa lang, na ginawa namin ‘yung look test, tinginan pa lang, naramdaman na namin ‘yung connection.”
He also discussed how they help each other with their chemistry and scenes as an on-screen pair.
“Naramdaman na namin na okay, magtutulungan tayo sa buong duration ng pag-shoot natin dahil, I don’t know, mararamdaman mo ‘yung tiwala, ‘yung connection sa bawat eksena na ginagawa natin nandoon siya, never siyang nawala.”
Pressman agreed with Madrid, noting her fascination over the story of ‘Video City.’
“Siyempre agree po kay Ruru, pero also ‘yung material rin po namin from the beginning, hindi po siya ‘yung kilig na– halos di po naghawak ng kamay minsan eh.
“Siguro the fantasy of how two people na galing sa magkaibang era, could connect so fast, na nararamdaman ninyo na you belong together, ‘yung fight din po against time, against destiny is hard na minsan gustong-gusto mo talagang makuha itong taong ‘to pero parang impossible, but that makes you want them even more. Kaya gagawa at gagawa ka ng paraan dahil mahal na mahal mo.”
As for their film, ‘Video City’ stars Yassi Pressman and Ruru Madrid. The movie is a co-production between Viva Films and GMA Pictures.
Under the direction of Raynier Brizuela, ‘Video City’ opens in cinemas starting September 20.
