On January 9, Kapamilya stars Kyle Echarri and Juan Karlos jokingly discussed the possibility of working together in a Boys Love series.
At the media conference for the Senior High Finale, which LionhearTV covered, Echarri first noted that he and Karlos haven’t had on-screen scenes together throughout the run of the Kapamilya teleserye.
“Actually, ang pinaka-problema po namin dito, sinabi po namin kay Direk Onat, natapos na po namin ‘yung taping lahat, wala pa kaming eksena.”Â
Karlos cited their chemistry, “Sa totoo lang po ‘yung chemistry namin off-screen.”
Echarri responded that he and Karlos could compete with the on-screen pairing of Zaijian Jaranilla and Miggy Jimenez, hinting at the possibility of working in a BL series.
“Kaya po namin mag-team POCH. Basta po si JK.”
He also recounted how they started their careers in The Voice Kids.
“Magkasama na po kami before noong nag OPM pa lang, the Voice Kids pa lang po kami magkakilala.”
As for Karlos, who recently focused on his music career, he remarked how much he missed working on teleseryes.
“Ang feeling ko ‘yung pinaka natutunan ko is kung gaano ko kamahal ‘yung mapunta sa isang environment ng teleserye, ‘yung talaga ‘yung namiss ko ng sobra. Kasi iba kasi ‘yung environment kapag movie. For example, with this kind of work, you really get to build deeper connections and relationships with the people you work with.”
As for their series, Senior High stars Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Elijah Canlas, Xyriel Manabat, Daniela Stranner, Juan Karlos Labajo, and Zaijian Jaranilla.
The cast also features Angel Aquino, Baron Geisler, Miggy Jimenez, Tommy Alejandrino, Desiree del Valle, Gerald Madrid, Angeli Bayani, and many more.
