Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual revealed that he faced a “mid-life crisis” that led him to consider quitting showbiz and moving to the United States permanently.
In an exclusive interview with Toni Gonzaga for her YouTube series ‘Toni Talks’, Piolo shared that he made this life-changing decision after finishing the 2014 blockbuster film ‘Starting Over Again’, where he starred alongside Toni. Despite the movie’s massive success, Piolo said he felt a deep sense of emptiness.
Piolo admitted that he had already begun sending his belongings to the US and informed his close friends that the movie would be his last project. He also recalled becoming emotional during the film’s victory party.
However, everything changed when Piolo embraced his faith and became a Born-Again Christian. He said the turning point was realizing that his career was part of a bigger purpose.
“Ah kaya pala ako nag-artista, kaya ko pala ginagawa ‘yong ginagawa ko is because of God’s purpose. It’s not my purpose, but His purpose…,” Piolo shared.
His spiritual journey helped him rediscover his passion for his craft and gave him a renewed sense of purpose.
Today, the actor remains one of the most celebrated and beloved stars in Philippine showbiz.
