Having a clean heart isn’t enough: Ogie Diaz calls for concrete platforms from politicians

As the May 2025 midterm elections draw near, talent manager and content creator Ogie Diaz has called on political candidates to present clear and actionable platforms, rather than relying on generic campaign promises.

In a recent social media post, Diaz emphasized that while good intentions are commendable, they are not enough to qualify someone for public office. He urged candidates to answer directly when asked about their legislative priorities, saying that voters deserve to know concrete plans, not just broad statements about helping the people.

Diaz addressed those who filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) and challenged them to articulate their policy priorities when engaging with voters.

He also criticized candidates who rely on vague and overused campaign narratives instead of laying out specific plans.

Ang linaw ng tanong: anong batas nga?!” he pointed out.

Diaz further expressed concern about the way politicians repeatedly use the struggles of the poor to appeal to voters, only to fail in delivering real change once in office.

“Juicekolord!

He also urged candidates to truly understand the responsibilities of governance, rather than simply relying on their good intentions to qualify for public office.

Diaz ended his statement with a reminder that leadership requires more than just a good heart—it demands competence, intelligence, and integrity.

As the 2025 elections approach, Diaz’s remarks echo a broader sentiment among many Filipinos who seek leaders with genuine plans and the ability to govern effectively.
