Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar has reprimanded his Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson over the controversial “symbolism” photo shared on her Facebook page.
In a radio interview Saturday, June 24, Andanar said she talked to Uson and told her to be more careful in posting on her social media accounts because she’s no longer just an ordinary blogger but a government employee and public official.
“So I told her about that na mahirap na nga i-separate na since it’s your blog but at the same time you are the Assistant Secretary. Okay naman si Mocha so sa tingin ko… she just have to more circumspect,” he said.
Andanar also said that he advised Uson to get social media page managers so that there will be people who can attend to her social media blogs while she attends to her government duties.
“I talked to Mocha about it and told her that of course it’s her blog, it’s her own Facebook page. Sabi ko, ‘Iyon lang whether it’s—I know that its hindi naman intentional iyong nag-upload pero she has to start, she has to hire really people who can manage…her Facebook page/blog, to help out because she’s already now an [Assistant] Secretary pero it was just an advice because that’s really on the blog,”.
Andanar was under fire the past weeks for successive blunders committed by his people at the Presidential Communications Operations Office which include his Assitant Secretary Mocha Uson.
Last May 2017, Uson was criticized for sharing the photo of Honduras policemen with the caption “Pray for our soldier”. While Mocha admitted to the mistake and she said it was not her intention to make the photo appear as our soldiers but a mere “symbolism”, the post still got the ire of the netizen for misleading people.
Aside from Mocha, Andanar was also put into hot water over the blunder of the Philippine News Agency for sharing a photo of Vietnamese war for the news about Marawi City and its report about extra-judicial killings.
