Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards opened up about his personal life in a recent interview, admitting that one of his biggest fears is growing old without a partner.
“Siguro my fear is… wow! I might grow old alone,” Alden shared during an interview aired on ’24 Oras’ on December 2. The actor became emotional as he spoke candidly about his worries and the pressures that come with age.
Alden explained that his selflessness—and his tendency to prioritize work and family—has contributed to why he has remained single.
“Minsan kasi wala na talaga akong pakialam sa sarili ko eh, mas ‘yung mga importante muna,” he said. “So ngayon lang siya dumating sa akin. Just now. And I said it. That’s my fear. I might grow old alone and I don’t want that to happen.”
Now 33, Alden acknowledged that he feels the pressure that naturally comes with getting older. But despite his fears, he believes that the right person will eventually arrive at the right time.
Alden also revealed that he once considered leaving showbiz completely due to a mild burnout. However, he eventually overcame the phase and is now celebrating his 15th year in the entertainment industry.
As part of his anniversary celebration, Alden is set to hold a fan meet titled ‘ARXV: Moving ForwARd’ on December 13 at the Santa Rosa City, Laguna Multi-Purpose Complex—his way of giving thanks to fans and supporters who have been with him throughout his 15-year journey.
