Celebrity couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez have confirmed that they are now seriously preparing to have a child through surrogacy.

In an interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila on her YouTube channel on Thursday, December 18, 2025, the ‘It’s Showtime’ host-comedian shared that they have already consulted a doctor regarding the process.
Vice explained that the plan has been discussed for a long time but was repeatedly delayed due to their busy schedules. Recently, however, they decided to prioritize it, especially with Vice turning 49.
“Gusto talaga namin. Nag-consult na ako sa doctor. Pinaplano na nga,” Vice said.
According to Vice, it was agreed between him and Ion that his sperm would be used for the surrogacy process, which requires him to prepare physically and mentally, including taking a three-month rest period.
“But I was told na, ‘You will have to rest for three months.’
Vice explained that doctors advised him to avoid stress to ensure healthier sperm cells.
Despite his desire to rest and prepare, Vice admitted that the idea of stepping away from It’s Showtime for three months deeply worries him.
“Kung kita’t kita lang rin naman, parang kaya ko naman magpahinga for three months. But I cannot leave It’s Showtime,” he said.
Vice clarified that his concern is not about income, but about his emotional attachment to the show and its people.
Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang, pero sa sobrang pagmamahal ko sa It’s Showtime, parang, ‘What’s going to happen to It’s Showtime if I’m not there for three months?’”
He added that even short absences already prompt concern from both management and viewers.
Vice admitted that his deep attachment to the show is something he personally struggles with.
At present, Vice said he is torn between his love for ‘It’s Showtime’ and his desire to finally have a child.
“Kailangan ko talagang magdesisyon at kumbinsihin yung sarili ko na, ‘You have to let go It’s Showtime for three months,’” he said.
Vice also shared why having a child matters deeply to him.
“I want kids because I love kids. Gusto kong magmahal ng bata. Gusto kong yumakap ng bata. Gusto kong mahalin yung bata.
Vice Ganda and Ion Perez got married in October 2021 and celebrated their seventh anniversary in October 2025. The couple remains visible on ‘It’s Showtime’, airing weekdays and Saturdays at noon on GMA Network and Kapuso Stream.
