Fresh off their victory as grand champions of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 4’, vocal standouts JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano—collectively known as ‘JMielle’ or the season’s ‘Birit Duo’—shared how the intense competition became a defining moment in their careers.

During the Star Magic Spotlight press conference held at the Dolphy Theatre, the duo opened up about the lessons they gained from the hit musical-variety show.
For JM, the experience went beyond impersonating music icons, pushing him to take more risks as a performer.
“Siguro yung pinakanakapagpa-realize sa akin is that the greatest risk is not taking any risk at all, ‘yun po yung napulot ko talaga after Your Face Sounds Familiar,” he said.
Known for his technical precision, JM admitted that the show helped him step out of his comfort zone and embrace unexpected challenges on stage.
Meanwhile, Marielle shared that the competition gave her a deeper sense of purpose in performing, highlighting the importance of emotional connection with the audience.
“Being part of Your Face pushed me to become more intentional, not just with my music,” she said.

“Hindi lang siya basta-basta na nandiyan lang tapos kakantahin mo as is. Dapat pala you put your heart into it, your soul, and how I connect with the audience as well,” she added.
From delivering standout “Iconator” performances to ultimately clinching the grand prize, JMielle proved their versatility and artistry throughout the season.
The duo is now gearing up for their upcoming concert, ‘JMielle: Sings The Icons,’ set on May 29 at the SM North EDSA Skydome. The show is expected to revisit their journey on ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ while introducing new performances for fans.
Fans have also taken notice of the pair’s strong chemistry onstage, with some expressing hopes that the tandem could expand into acting projects, possibly in a musical format.
