AGB-Nielsen Media Research Philippines, popularly called AGB Nielsen, is a market research firm in the Philippines specializing in broadcast media. AGB Nielsen Media Research (Philippines) is the subsidiary of AGB Nielsen Media Research, a joint venture formed by the AGB Group & the TAM business of The Nielsen Company in March 2005. AGB Nielsen conducts audience measurement of television ratings for certain areas in the Philippines, most notably in urban areas.
AGB Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is used by 21 companies and two other local networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients.
ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.
In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 1,190 homes as compared to Kantar Media‘s 770 homes.
Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,000 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.
Kantar Media started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009. It culled its data from 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors—the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
Kantar Media’s current subscribers include ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann and Wellmade Manufacturing Corp. Regional networks like CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, and Sony Pictures Television International also get their data from Kantar Media.
Broadcasters ABS-CBN Corp. and GMA Network Inc. and TV5 have released data, each of them are claiming to be on top of the ratings game in the first five months.

owsss talaga hiya naman ako sa kantar baho mandaraya na hindi manlang ma i commercial na no. 1 sila tama lang naman na ang kantar ay isang kumpanyang nanloloko ng mga tao at ang mga naniniwala naman sa sinasabi nila ay tatanga tangang katulad mo na walng alam dahil kung ang abs sa pilipinas lang humahakot ng parangal pwes ang gma 7 na number 1 talaga ay humahakot pati sa buong mundo pating ang highest award na pea body meron sila ung abs cbulok mo wala kasi cheap at bulok kayo hahahaha, may payo ko sayo punta ka sa abs cbn building at makikita mo na yung building nila ay wasak wask na ang makikita mo nalang sa tatak ni ay A yung BS CBN nawala nag hahahah tapos meron pang sirasirang flag yung abs cbn sa building nila hahahah sino cheap ngayon?

At inakusahan daw ng pandaraya ang AGB… Lewls. INAKUSAHAN! When ABSCBN filled a case against them AGB and GMA, anyare? Napawalang bisa? kasi walang maipakitang katibayan… hahahaha Lol. Pansin niyo ba? sa social networking websites lang sila naglalabas ng rating tally? hindi nila macommercialize yung result… unlike sa GMA! pinapakita nila sa tv 🙂
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represents 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population at hindi 1,370. Mas mataas ng 609 panels kesa sa AGB….
