May 19, 2013 (TORONTO, CANADA) –Ching Quejas, Presidentof the Kalayaan Centre and finalist to last year’s Global Bayaning Pilipino, was confined at the Intensive Care Unit of the Trilium Health Centre in Ontario for severe pneumonia for five months last year. At age 88 then, the prognosis did not seem promising so the doctors were surprised to monitor her progress and called her their “miracle lady.” According to Quejas, fondly called Mama Ching by people close to her, she recovered from her illness with the help of the good vibes she got from the show Be Careful With My Heart.
Mama Ching is just one of the many Filipinos who attest to the worldwide phenomena that is Be Careful With My Heart. This Sunday, May 19, Filipinos in Canada, including Mama Ching, will finally come face-to-face with the endearing stars of the hit series as The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) Summer Caravan kicks off with its yearly, history-making event – One Kapamilya Go! (OKGo!) Richard Yap (Ser Chief Ricardo Lim), Jodi Sta. Maria (Maya Dela Rosa), Mutya Orquia (Abby Lim), Rosario “Tart” Carlos (Doris), Vivieka Ravanes (Sabel) and Aiza Seguerra (Kute) will provide warmth to their kababayans in an otherwise cold season with their show’s Canada leg on OKGo! Canada 2013 this week.
On television Ser Chief and Maya’s every interface sets viewers around the world into thrills. Various anecdotes have been shared with TFC Canada such as Filipino nurses who converge just to talk about the recent episode of the show. When they are at the refuge of their homes or at their friends’ abode, these nurses make sure they are tuned in to TFC on video on demand to watch the latest episode or catch up via TFC.tv.”
On May 19, Fil-Canadians will finally be treated to the kilig moments plus engaging song numbers from the on-screen love team played by Richard and Jody, in person.
Filipinos will also witness Doris and Sabel’s interesting banter which entertain dedicated viewers in every show. The Be Careful With My Heart Canada leg will also liven up with the dance and song numbers by Abby, played by child actress Mutya and Kute, played by award-winning and hit-making artist Aiza, respectively.
The cast who are fresh from their U.S. tour, shares their excitement to see their kababayans in Canada. “Excited na excited kaming makita kayo,” (We’re all excited to see you) the cast chorused in a recent interview. Sir Chef prods all Fil-Canadians to join the show’s Canada leg. “Go na go na tayo sa One Kapamilya Go!” Let’s all go (Kapamilyas). Maya joins him in his call. “Tara na para magkita-kita na tayo Kapamilya.” (See you there kapamilyas).
According to Marco Amoranto, managing director of TFC in Canada (ABS-CBN Canada ULC), “Every year, it is TFC’s goal to bring together Filipinos from the different provinces in Canada through the Summer Caravan.
