Best known as the lead guitarist personally handpicked by the late great Michael Jackson for his monumental concert tour “This Is It,” Orianthi Panagaris or simply Orianthi has played for and with the biggest and most diverse artists in the world such as Carlos Santana, Alice Cooper, Steve Vai, Michael Bolton, Prince, ZZ Top, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, John Mayer and Dave Stewart, among others.
Orianthi is currently doing her Every Road Asian Tour where she played with Richie Sambora last August 10 in Seoul’s City Break 2014, August 16 in Osaka and August 17 in Tokyo.
Orianthi is now in Manila, for a series of performances and guesting in radio and TV, Orianthi has a busy schedule here. She attended the press conference of her Every Road promotional tour on Monday, the 29-year-old Australian musician-singer-songwriter where she met the local press and bloggers.
Orianthi is set to perform in several venues in Manila from Aug. 20 to 27 in line with the release of her very first Best Of… record which is being released in Japan this month. On Aug. 20, she will have a special appearance at AMPed, a fund-raising concert of the Midlife Crisis band and AMP at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at Resorts World Manila. The concert is for the benefit of the Midlife Crisis band’s music scholars and for the building of classrooms.
Orianthi’s vast experience has managed to hone her skills to her best advantage. She says, “I’ve learned something valuable from all the artists I have had the privilege to work with.” She has recently appeared on tour with famous guitarist Ritchie Sambora (formerly of Bon Jovi) across Europe and New York.
Orianthi is recognized as Guitar International magazine’s “Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year” (2010) and Elle Magazine’s among the 12 Best Female Electric Guitar Players (2009). She was also honored by Gibson Guitars as one of the Top 10 Female Guitar Players of All Time.
