On its 6th anniversary, the noontime show, “It’s Showtime!” held its “Showtime Kapamilya Day” together with star-studded back-to-back performances of ABS-CBN celebrities at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The program started with production numbers of the show’s hosts-Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Kuya Kim Atienza, Jhong Hilario, Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz, Coleen Garcia, Ryan Bang, and Eruption. It followed by many more acts of different celebrities and casts of Kapamilya shows that truly entertained the viewers in the big dome.
Here are more highlights from “It’s Showtime” program Saturday afternoon.
1.) It’s spectacular and explosive performances were indeed remarkable and viewers were in full awe with its “ASAP” inspired entertainment, though not everyone were lucky to join inside the dome because the area was already jampacked.
2.) Truly, the anniversary free concert celebration was a successful one and most will agree that ABS-CBN holds the title of the only TV station which can fill in big stadiums like Araneta.
As expected lots of Kapamilya stars had gathered in one big event as a way of giving thanks to all the supporters. Appearance of biggest loveteams like Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel), Nadine Lustre and James Reid (JaDine), Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (LizQuen) and Kim Chiu and Xian Lim (KimXi) drew more fans to come.
3.) Aside from the fact that it’s for free admission, artists like Daniel Padilla, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, who hold jam-packed concerts every year, shouldn’t be underestimated as they all have huge following and greatly contributed to the number of fans flocked to the arena.
Also attended the event were Primetime Bida stars of “Pasion de Amor” Jake Cuenca, Arci Munoz, Ejay Falcon, Ellen Adarna, Joseph Marco, and Coleen Garcia who failed to beat “Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita” stars Vina Morales, Richard Yap, Denise Joaquin, and Christian Vasquez in Lip Swak battle. “Etiquette for Mistresses” stars Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado and Kim Chiu served as the judges.
Fans got also a chance to see Primetime King Coco Martin who gave his expertise love advice for Angelica Jane Yap aka Pastillas Girl.
4.) With its tight competition among rival shows, the variety show knew how to play the game by exposing and highlighting the prized talents of the fast-rising “The Voice Kids” artists namely: Elha Nympha , Esang de Torres and Sassa Dagdag.
5.) After the conclusion of the program, fans are now asking whether it did fair on the rating game. Unfortunately, rating service providers are not yet releasing any scores for yesterday’s episode. So by all means, let’s all keep calm and wait for the results.
