It’s not true that the Pinoy adaptation of hit Korean series “My Love From the Star” was put on hold because the network can’t find the perfect leading man to play Matteo Do, the opposite character Jennylyn Mercado will be playing.
“Nagkaroon ng problema kasi dapat po sisimulan na namin ang soap sa GMA kaya lang na-delay siya kaya nung time na yun, hindi na namin tinanggap yung movie,” Jennylyn revealed during the presscon of her latest album ‘Ultimate’ at Packo’s Restaurant near ABS-CBN.
In fact, GMA Network has already chosen the guy who will play the role originally played by Kim Soo Hyun and according to Jennylyn, he’s really new and this could probably be his biggest break in showbiz. “Meron na po. Bago po, bago po talaga. Nagpa-audition po,” she said.
Jennylyn added some hints to the new guy. She said, “Nag-audition sa amin and nag-acting-acting kami. Basta moreno at model. Basta hindi po siya artista.”
When asked if she’s okay to be paired with a newbie, she answered, “Okay lang po. Magwo-workshop naman.”
To be directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, the story of “My Love From the Star” is all about an alien (Matteo Do) in human form who landed on Earth during the Joseon Dynasty. He eventually falls in Love with a famous celebrity (Steffie Cheon) in the modern times.
